A brief word about Finnick, but mostly about what Finnick can do for you.

Why Finnick?

Finnick helps Fintech companies with all legal aspects of their business, including license applications, advice on compliance with financial laws and regulations, financing, contract negotiations, dispute resolution and crypto and blockchain.

Why doing business with Finnick? Because of its:

  • entrepreneurial and result-oriented approach with attention to the specific needs of the FinTech company
  • practical and hands-on support in the implementation of legal and regulatory advice within the organisation
  • ability to make difficult things simple
  • efficient negotiations with good results by focusing on what is important for the FinTech company
  • clear picture of what is to come and how to get there, also financially

Why has this office been founded?

Finnick was founded by Arie van den Bergen based on the idea that legal services to FinTech companies can be improved. FinTech entrepreneurs want to focus primarily on their business rather than on the legal aspects. Finnick helps with this by making the ‘license to operate’ easy for FinTech companies by providing practical and result-driven legal advice in understandable language.

About Arie van den Bergen

Like no other, Arie is able to make financial supervision legislation understandable for clients and translate it into a concrete and practical implementation. He thinks along with the customer in solutions without losing sight of the overall picture and continues until the job is done. He has a personal approach and is open, transparent and connecting people.

Arie combines a thorough knowledge and experience of the FinTech business with 25 years of experience as a lawyer (e.g. at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek) and corporate lawyer at renowned financial institutions (Deutsche Bank, ING and Aegon Bank/Knab). He has worked for 7 years at online bank Knab in the start-up phase and knows what it takes to make a FinTech company a success.

In his spare time, Arie enjoys sports: squash, tennis, running and sailing. He also likes (hiking) travels and cooking and likes to spend time with his family with two daughters.
